The guardianship team at Living Learning English Guardianship is celebrating some very good news this week: We have successfully passed the AEGIS Gold Standard re-accreditation inspection, with flying colours! The team has received a glowing report from AEGIS, praising our procedures and practices.
The lead inspector reported:
This guardianship organisation is highly professional and well organised, its name embodies all that it aims for with its students to enable them to have a holistic living and learning experience of English.
It’s been four years since the last AEGIS inspection of our guardianship service, so this success has been achieved due to the continued hard work of the Guardianship team, who work diligently to safeguard the students we care for.
AEGIS regularly sends out amendments to their guidelines and this is something that has helped our team to keep on track, using the updated framework to work towards this inspection, and in many cases, go above and beyond the requirements.
We're now fully re-accredited to AEGIS gold standard
Emma, our Senior Guardianship Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead, said:
'The whole team at Living Learning English was extremely pleased to receive our Gold Standard re-accreditation report from AEGIS, which confirmed that LLE is exemplary and many of our policies and procedures go above and beyond the high standards already set by AEGIS. We found that the re-accreditation process ran very smoothly, despite the challenges of the pandemic, and LLE will continue to work alongside AEGIS to maintain, enhance and promote the highest standards of safeguarding and student care for international students in the UK.'
Thank you to AEGIS for congratulating us, on their recent blog post. Here are some of the comments from the report that we’re particularly proud of:
Living Learning English Ltd has comprehensive and detailed policies fully in line with and often going beyond the AEGIS requirements.
Of particular note are the very informative handbooks and safeguarding policy, which give excellent guidance and support to homestays and families so they are fully prepared for all possible eventualities.
Living Learning English Ltd take their role in the safeguarding of students extremely seriously and are very thorough in ensuring all requirements are in place and frequently monitored.
Kate Hargreaves, our Principal, noted: I’m really proud of every member of the LLE Guardianship team and our teacher hosts who have worked exceptionally hard to achieve such high standards and for living the values underpinning the work that we do.’
Huge congratulations to our team, who are looking forward to welcoming new guardianship pupils for the coming academic year this September!
